Initial Results
The results below show our initial nine month live trading period where we evaluated the performance of each strategy for each currency pair on our live account to determine its potential future profitability. Only the strategies that produced a profit would continue to run on the live account.
Account Profit/Loss
As you can see, we had been experiencing a sustained
period of losses until the beginning of August, since
when we have recouped our losses and are now just
about in profit. Here's a good example of why
leverage should be used sensibly. Too much and we
would not have survived this drawdown period.
EUR/USD
This strategy has been one of the more successful.
Based on following price movements that break below
or above a certain level. When losses occur they are
sizeable, but profitable trades tend to come in more
often. We have high hopes for this one.
This has been the worst performing strategy, making a
steady decline since the beginning. However,
long-term backtesting has indicated that it is a
profitable strategy if you can stand some extended
down-turns between profitable streaks. Therefore, we
shall be sticking with this one for the time being to
see what happens.
